Meg was a lot of fun this year for Halloween. She was able to wear her costume to three parties before the big day so by the time Halloween came she was ready to go. She was walking around the house carrying a pumpkin in the few hours before it was time to go saying "twick tweet?" always in the form of a question.
With mommy, daddy, grandma and mommy's friend Amanda in tow we finally headed out the door. We had planned to go around the block we live on but about half way through Meg asked to be picked up and for "treehouse" which is code that she is tired, ready to pack it in and go to bed.
We had a good time and she did make the cutest puppy!

Happy 2nd Birthday Meg!
It is hard to believe that our little Meg is 2 years old today! We had a great day. She started the day with "pick a muffin" at Tim Horton's which she loves, then we went to Chudleigh's Apple Farm where she went on a hay ride, rode a pony, ate some apples and played. She ended her second birthday with dinner with Grandma/Grandad McLaughlin, Grandma Kathi, Miriam and Rosa. Happy Birthday Meg! We love you!

Cottage Living
It's no secret that Nathan and I dream of owning a cottage one day. But before that day arrives we have been renting a cottage each summer. This summer we were on Belmont Lake near Havelock. We had beautiful weather for September with the peace and quiet of everyone being back at school.
Beautiful sunset view from the cottage |
Meg swam every day. It wasn't easy getting her out of the water! |
Grandma McLaughlin brought watermelon. Mmmm! |

Camping with "fwends"
Back in July we had our annual camping trip with the Turner's. This year we went to MacGregor Provincial Park and we had lots of fun. By the end of the weekend Meg was an emotional wreck due to limited sleep but all in all we had a good time and Meg enjoyed spending time with her "fwends". Every time one of us said Kevin's name Meg would say "eight, nine.." She thinks his name is seven.
Below are some pics to share:

Fun in the Sun
Maxx, Nathan, Meg and I spent Saturday swimming at Aunt Pam and Uncle Joe's house. Meg said "no" a lot at first when we tried to get her to come in the pool with us, but thankfully Lauren arrived and saved the day! She had her jumping off the side of the pool in no time. Thanks for a fun day!

BC Fun
We spent 10 days in BC and had a great time. Everyone was very excited to see Meg and spend time with her. She is going through a "transportation phase" right now so a lot of our time was spent on boats, trains and of course in an airplane. She was quite excited! She was also great on the plane both ways which we were both shocked and very happy about. Here are some of the highlights from our trip.
Meg was tired but excited to see her cousins at the airport! |
We all took a trip on the sky train and Meg LOVED her first train ride |
At the lake by Grandpa Gibby's and Grandma Row's house |
Another transportation first for Meg - a paddle boat! |
Meg's first ice cream cone. It was love at first bite |
We spent a lot of time at the park in the Whistler village. This slide was a Meg favorite |
Meg gave herself a yogurt face mask during breakfast one morning |
Meg taking a break from the splash park in Whistler to pose on a rock. What you can't see is her grandpa is sitting on the rock beside her. She loves to copy him! |

Trampoline Fun
Meg had loads of fun on the trampoline at her Aunt Michelle and Uncle Luke's house on the weekend. She hasn't quite mastered the jumping part but had fun on her own and with her cousin Evan nonetheless.
Thank you grandad McLaughlin for the video!

Meg Learning to Drive
Meg got a car from a garage sale a few weeks ago and she loves it. We have a really hard time getting her out of it!
Here is a link to a video of her enjoying her new wheels.

Shoes, shoes, shoes
Meg went on her first official shoe shopping trip with me and grandma Row while they were visiting from Vancouver. The poor thing had no shoes left that fit her and was wearing slippers around town for weeks. She definitely had strong opinions about what shoes she was interested in. There were pairs she wouldn't even let me put on her feet. When she saw the pink sparkles on one pair and the lights on another she said "Yes, yes!" so you can imagine which pairs we came home with. Below is our shopping trip in pictures...
Getting her foot measured for the first time |
Trying on all the options... |
Decisions, decisions... |
...and the winners were - sandals with a "flowa" on them, the pink sparkles (who could resist) and the princess running shoes with "lights"! |
